How to use the Axahaler device

THE AXAHALER®

How to use use the Axahaler^® device?

A capsule of dry powder is placed in the device. The capsule is broken by pressing the buttons on each side. When you inhale, the drug the drug is released. This innovative DPI offers an optimum deposition of the drug andhence, increases the medicine’s effectiveness.

1. Remove the cap of the Axahaler®.
   
   
2. Twist the top of the Axahaler® to open it.
   
   
3. Place the capsule in the hole in the center of the Axahaler®.
   
4. Twist to close the top of the Axahaler®.
   
5. Hold the Axahaler® with the mouthpiece up. Press the buttons on the sides of the Axahaler® once firmly. This will pierce the capsule, so you can inhale the medication when you breathe in.
   
   
6. Hold the Axahaler® away from your mouth and gently breathe out. Do not blow into the Axahaler®
   
7. Seal your lips around the mouthpiece.
   
   
8. Breathe in quickly and deeply (over two to three seconds) through your mouth to activate the flow of medication.
   
9. Resume normal breathing.
   
10. Twist the top of the Axahaler® to open. Throw away the used capsule.
    
11. Place the lid back on the Axahaler® when not in use. This will help keep the Axahaler® clean and dry.
